I got the cavessons today. So off I go to work them. As I’m grooming Adiva, B shows up with a tree on a trailer. So, I’m not sure if I want to work them or not. While I want them to get used to all sorts of things going on, I’m not sure I need to put them thru that kind of test so soon in our work. Usually the tractor doesn’t bother them, but I don’t want them distracted by the tree moving around. I groom Adiva then Anni, then put them back in their stalls. I decide to wait until B has the tree in the ground to grab Adiva and try on her cavesson. Noseband is a bit big - gonna have to sew that - but I get her all ready and lunge her anyway. She’s golden. A true pro. Even stops halfway thru and turns around on her own to go the other way. Yeah, she’s good. I can tell she’s bored with lunging now. I’ll try the Vienna reins next time and see what she thinks of those.
I give Anni the day off - it’s getting dark, and she gets an extra day off due to her age. I do try on her caves son. Again, noseband too big. Funny, but oh well. I go so far as to try Adiva’s on her, and it’s too big too. Guess I get to do some sewing soon! In the meantime, I’ll just stick to the halters. Here’s Adiva - I’ll get some of Anni next time!
