It’s been two months. I really can’t believe it. I mean, it feels like yesterday when we popped them off the trailer. And yet things are so perfect it feels like I’ve had them for ever. Adiva is totally attached to me. She had a few little idiosyncrasies when I first got her - she didn’t want anyone walking up to her and rubbing her face in the pasture, wouldn’t let me mess with her when she was eating hay, really didn’t want to go into her stall for me - and now she’s a big puppy dog. Follows me everywhere, lets me kiss her nose over the fence, loves me to scratch her when she’s eating. She’s such a cutie. It was her turn today. She’s always so ready to go. She’s always easy too. She loves the work. She really does. I do need to get the cavessons fixed so I can step up her training. She’s raring to go, as always.

Today is Anni’s turn. But…my legs are extremely sore, and I’m not thinking I want to push myself. So I ask K if he wants to learn how. He does, so this way he can learn how to lunge and he’s way stronger than I am. So if she pulls her little tantrum, he can stop her. They do great together - she’s listening to him and he’s listening to me. I forgot how much fun it is to teach!!!! I do have to say I’m a good trainer. I can easily see what’s going on - what body language needs to be fixed and when the horse is really working or not. This is lots of fun and so good for Anni too - she needs to learn to listen to anyone, not just me. She seemed to enjoy it too.
I’m glad they both think work is fun. Makes things so much easier. Now I just need to fix those cavessons so I can start using the Vienna reins.
